Built on Generations of Craftsmanship
The foundation of Tripp Fence Company began long before the business officially opened. Owner and founder James Harkins developed his passion for woodworking and construction as a young boy, spending hours in his grandfather’s garage learning how to finish projects the right way.
Those early lessons came with plenty of bent nails, bruised knuckles, and hands-on experience, but they also taught something far more important: take pride in your work, pay attention to the details, and never treat quality as optional.
James carried those lessons into vocational school, where he expanded his knowledge of construction, carpentry, and cabinetry. He later earned a degree in Architectural Technology and completed a seven-year craftsman apprenticeship before founding Tripp Construction Enterprises, which eventually led to the dedicated fencing division now known as Tripp Fence Company.
What began as a broader construction company soon revealed a clear specialty. Fencing quickly became the main focus because it allowed James and his team to combine construction knowledge, craftsmanship, design, and practical property improvements into one highly specialized service.
Today, Tripp Fence Company stands apart as a true fence company, not a handyman service or general contractor simply adding fencing to a list of services. With a builder’s license, extensive construction background, and years of hands-on experience, James brings a level of expertise to each project that homeowners can feel confident in.
